‘MAFS’ Star Jamie Otis Makes a Major Announcement Months After Suffering Chemical Pregnancy

In July 2016, “Married at First Sight” stars Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner suffered a miscarriage.

They lost the baby boy they named Jonathan, and Jamie used her social media accounts to open up about how she was feeling afterward.

One year later, in August 2017, Jamie and Doug welcomed a rainbow baby – a little girl named Henley Grace Hehner.

In their pregnancy announcement, the mom wrote that her daughter was “handpicked” by her “brother in heaven.”

In the months following Henley’s birth, Jamie and Doug began trying for their third child, which turned out to be a difficult process.

However, after months of trying, the couple revealed on Instagram that Henley was being “promoted” to a big sister:

During their journey, Jamie also suffered a chemical pregnancy at the beginning of 2018. The parents opened up about their struggles to conceive after announcing they were pregnant last week:

So excited to finally share the news that we’re PREGNANT!!!💫🤰🏼✨ • I also want to be sensitive to all the mama’s who have been TTC but are struggling.🙏🏻 The road to conception wasn’t easy for us and I know there’s a involuntary pain that sneaks up on you when it seems like everyone and their sister is getting pregnant but you. ….I was so thankful to have the @avawomen bracelet throughout our #ttc process. I wore Ava every night to tell me my most fertile days in real-time, and I can tell you – it’s crazy accurate. I can say with certainty that wearing this bracelet is a big reason I’m pregnant. I wanted to share it with you in case you’re on the struggle to conceive boat too.🙏🏻💗 … I’m a proud partner of Ava & I reached out to see if I could get you ladies a discount in case you’re in need of some help too. You can use code JAMIEOTIS for $20 off at avawomen.com – I’m sending all of you hopeful mamas lots and lots of love and baby dust.✨🙏🏻👶🏼💫 • And as you can see, Gracie is just THRILLED to be promoted to big sister!🤷🏻‍♀️😂💗 • • #avawomen #avapartner #ttccommunity #pregnancyjourney #pregnant #babyfever #preggers #prego #bestbigsister #mommyhood #momlife #tryingtoconceive #hopeful

Jamie said, in part:

… I know that there are so many people who have struggled to get pregnant. I, this second time around, I mean it’s never been easy for us to get pregnant. I think you guys know, our first baby, our angel baby in heaven, Jonathan, we lost him. We delivered him at 17 weeks one day and lost him. And then we got pregnant with this sweet girl, our rainbow baby. And then I ended up having a chemical pregnancy when we were trying for baby number two. So the struggle is real.

I’m a labor and delivery nurse and I honestly didn’t even realize when they say one and four, it doesn’t seem so real until it happens to you.

The soon-to-be mom of two then revealed she’s eight weeks along:

Jamie added that “going into 2019, I am SO thankful for this pregnancy and I can’t even explain my gratitude to my hubby – he has been so loving and attentive…and I couldn’t ask for a better daddy for our children.”

“Eeee!!! So exciting to soon be a mommy and daddy of TWO on earth, and one in heaven!”
