Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s pregnant wife, Lauren Burnham Luyendyk, admitted that she’s nervous her baby won’t flip naturally before she goes into labor.
The former “Bachelor” contestant and the star of season 22 are one month away from meeting their first child, a baby girl. But Lauren is “upset” her baby was still breech at her 36-week appointment.
Lauren admitted that she was holding on to hope that her unborn daughter would turn around but unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and she fears the possibility of needing a C-section.
After a relatively easy pregnancy, the reality star opened up with fans in an Instagram story and said she desperately needs her baby to flip.
As reported by US Weekly, the 27-year-old told her followers on Tuesday, “Everyone send your positive vibes/prayers our way to get this munchkin flipped!”
The Virginia native explained:
“I was very open with you guys about what was going on with the breech situation and, honestly, with the whole pregnancy thing from the beginning, so I just wanted to update you about what’s going on with that.”
We just went to our 36-week appointment today and the baby is still breech, unfortunately, and the reason I think that’s unfortunate for me is because that wasn’t part of my plan originally.”
Lauren went on to tell fans she was hoping for a natural, drug-free birth.

Just ONE month to go! Was looking back at old photos and I can remember I was excited (and slightly terrified) when we found out. On one hand it feels like it’s gone by so fast and on the other this was before our wedding and so much had happened since then. Hopefully this month flies by and we can start this next chapter… Now hurry up and get here @babyluyendyk!
“I didn’t really want to be on any kind of drugs that would alter my state of mind and when you have a surgery like a C-section, that’s something that’s almost necessary because it’s painful to do without them. So I’m a little upset about that.”
According to the American Pregnancy Association, the disadvantages of having a cesarean delivery include the risk of infection, pain, lasting soreness, and blood loss.
The expecting mother still hopes there’s time for the baby to turn right at the end. She’s trying everything to prevent birth complications.
