Actress Kate Hudson, 39, always wanted a baby girl to join her two sons from past relationships, Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7.
And last month, the mom finally got her wish with the arrival of her little girl, Rani Rose.
Hudson had her first daughter with her longtime boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, 32. The baby girl was named after the musician’s grandfather.
Now, Hudson’s dad, 67-year-old actor Kurt Russell, says he couldn’t be more thrilled for his daughter.

At the premiere of Netflix’s “The Christmas Chronicles” on November 18, Russell told Us Weekly:
“It’s her first daughter. She’s got two boys. She’s a little different with the little girl. We’re really happy that she got [a girl] . . . and we’re proud of Danny and the relationship.”
Russell added that he’s excited to see Rani enjoying her very first Christmas, even if she may be too young to remember it. He said:
“She is the sixth grandchild, Kate’s first daughter. Along with the other five now, it is obviously a fantastic addition, and it will be fun just to watch her little eyes looking at the lights on the Christmas tree and taking it all in for the first time.”
Hudson’s brother, 42-year-old Oliver Hudson, said that he’s happy his sister got the baby girl she always wanted. He told Us Weekly:
“It’s definitely something that she wanted, and she got it, you know what I mean? It’s just fun to have a whole different crew. I had a daughter on my third kid as well and it’s a totally different ballgame!”
Luckily, it seems Hudson’s sons already have a strong bond with their baby sister, Dearly previously reported.
Her eldest boy, Ryder, posted photos of himself cuddling little Rani on Instagram last month.
It seems that as the holidays arrive, Rani was the best present the Hudson family could have received.
