Reality star Kim Kardashian just welcomed her third child, Chicago West, via surrogate in January, and fans have been asking the social media starlet for regular updates about her little one.
One fan asked on Twitter: “how’s Chi doing?”
Kardashian gave a glowing update:
The sweetest! Best baby! She looks a tiny bit like North and a tiny bit like Saint but definitely her own person! https://t.co/8jZyc7wokj

On Monday Kardashian posted baby Chicago’s first social media pic, but some fans were surprised by how she introduced her newborn to the world. Some commented on social media that it wasn’t what they expected.
Fans noticed Chicago West’s first social media pic was different than her other siblings.

In white robe, hair pulled back in a ponytail, Kardashian puckered up for the camera and took a picture with baby Chicago craddled in arms— but with a bear filter.
Some fans thought it was adorable and wrote:
Just like mommi she adorable god bless …your clone!
Beautiful baby. ? gorgeous.
Your mini. She is you all day!
She has lashes for days.
She has your eyes kim….
Another fan explained why the baby had beautiful doe eyes like her mom in the photo:
Its a filter, you’re an idiot.
British talk show hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid thought the mommy-daughter filter went too far, according to the Evening Standard. Morgan commented during their morning show, “Good Morning Britain”:
“Imagine this being the first ever picture that your mother ever puts out about you to 100 million people with stupid bear ears. There is literally no shame below which she won’t plummet.”
Morgan said the teddy bear ears are “ridiculous” but he’s not surprised that “Kim Kardashian would be doing this.”
He went on to say:
“Seriously, what about the baby’s right not to be used in that way? I just think it’s repellent. Give the kid a chance for God’s sake. Don’t give it stupid bear ears.”
Reid agreed with her co-host. She said:
“This is where I say filters have gone too far. Babies are beautiful whatever they look like they’re just babies and they look lovely. I think it’s a shame.”
The Snapchat photo isn’t the five-week-old baby’s social media debut. Chicago West first appeared in Kylie’s Jenner’s baby announcement video.
Jenner’s video, titled “To Our Daughter,” showed the then-pregnant reality star holding newborn Chicago.
Jenner said in the video:
“She looks completely different.”
“She’s so little.”
The natural, unfiltered video, showed a healthy, lovely baby.
Regardless of how people criticize Kardashian’s use of social media, People reports that she recently shared with best friend Allison Statter that she is “super present” with her kids:
“One of the rules I have about being present with my kids is I don’t have my phone when I’m with them. So, like story time at night, in the mornings getting ready, I just don’t have my phone.”
The social media “queen” explained that while a vibrant social media presence is a part of her career, she knows there’s a time and place for family. Kardashian said:
“Obviously, that is what’s going to come with their lives and I can’t imagine what it’s like growing up in a world with social media as a young teenager.”
“I want my kids to see the separation and to feel the difference and know that there is a time and a place for that. So I’m really cautious when I’m at home with my phones and just being super present.”
Kardashian was most recently criticized for posting a topless photo on Instagram with her daughter in the background, as Dearly previously reported. However, as she asserted at the Create & Cultivate event, social media doesn’t distract her from being a good mom.
