Kim Kardashian West, reigning queen of social media, had a bit of a situation Tuesday night when a follower caught a glimpse of a mysterious substance in one of the superstar’s Snapchat videos.

The Twitter user jumped at the chance to point out two curious white lines, which the fan said was cocaine:

Other users stepped in, donning their best proverbial detective caps to get to the bottom of this grand puzzle:

The mother of two, who has previously addressed not drinking or doing drugs, took no time — less than an hour — to deny any and all rumors of nefarious behavior. Instead, the 36-year-old mogul argued that it was instead just a sweet mess:

She was backed up by fellow Twitter personality and often outspoken supermodel, Chrissy Teigen, who argued that there’d be no reason for Kardashian West to leave drugs out on her kitchen counter:

Though many fans weren’t buying the sugary excuse:

Several hours later, Kardashian West changed her tune. After her own internal investigation, the Kardashian West household concluded that the real culprit was not sugar, but something much harder — her marble countertop.

Revelatory Snapchat videos unearthed the truth. Kardashian West tactfully shows her millions of fans a close up of her entire counter, apparently clearing her name of the speculative allegations.

She admits to her initial error to avoid potential blowback — the classic mix-’em-up of Pixy Stix and granite marbling:

“After all that this table in the background is a marble table you guys!”

She echoed her earlier statements that the party scene just isn’t in her character:

“C’mon you guys. I have kids. That’s just not my lifestyle, I’ve never been like that.”

While Kardashian West seems to have put this scandal to bed, serious family drama still looms.

She’s remained radio silent on brother Rob Kardashian’s vicious revenge porn scandal against ex-fiancée Blac Chyna, though sources close to the family claimed that the entire family has had enough.
