Being a working mom means finding a balance between family life and your own — and that’s not always easy.
Reality star and mother of three Kim Kardashian West said she knows the feeling.
On Sunday, the 38-year-old makeup mogul said on the “Alec Baldwin Show” that sometimes it takes sacrifice. Especially when you’re married to a big personality like Kanye West, 41.
According to People, Kardashian told host Alec Baldwin:
“I’ve always been so independent and working, and [had a] schedule, and when you get married and have a husband that has their career and then have kids, your independence … you have to let it go.”
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star continued:
“I had to learn that being with a man like Kanye. I let [Kanye] be who he wants to be. I let him have his own views and opinions, even if they’re different than mine…
I think it’s just having an open mind. I love to let my husband be who he is. We definitely have conversations if I don’t understand something in private and talk about that.”
Her husband’s comments during a visit to the White House with President Donald Trump recently sparked controversy.
However, Kardashian West told Baldwin that she grew up in a household with varying political views and doesn’t see their differences as a problem.
Kardashian West and her husband tied the knot in 2014 and have three children together, 5-year-old North, 2-year-old Saint, and 9-month-old Chicago.
The mother of three went through a number of struggles during her first two pregnancies, and ultimately chose to have their third child via surrogate, Dearly previously reported.
Despite her sacrifices, Kardashian West said having kids is a blessing in life. Last year, she wrote on her website:
There can be ups and downs with kids but no matter what, I always learn so much from them. Being a mom is the most important job I have.
