Kim Kardashian West admits she has a lot on her plate and that she doesn’t know how to tell her daughter North West that her first pet hamster died.

In a sneak peek of Sunday’s episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” the reality star is on the phone with her sister, Khloe Kardashian, when her assistant tells her that her eldest child’s favorite hamster isn’t moving.

Kim responds:

“I don’t have time for a dead hamster.”

The 38-year-old mother of four goes on to say she doesn’t know how to explain to North that Blacktail is dead because she knows the news will break her 5-year-old daughter’s heart.

She continues to open up about the sad news:

“I don’t know how I’m going to say, ‘By the way, your hamster died.’ […] It’s the first time she’s, like, really, really, really loved an animal. More than her dogs! She’s still into it, and I don’t know what to do.”

Kim then quickly turns her frustration to Khloe, who bought the pet hamster for her niece. She said:

“This is the kind of s**t I can’t deal with. This is why you don’t get someone a pet. Don’t ever do this to me again. I literally hate you.”

According to the Humane Society, the best way to cope with the death of your child’s pet and share the bad news to kids is to first not blame yourself. Once the shock of the news fades and a child can heal and move on, then families can discuss buying another pet.

It’s also best to gauge a child’s maturity level before breaking the bad news. However, sticking with the truth is always best.
