On Tuesday evening, “Today” show host Kathie Lee Gifford confirmed some very sad news: Her mother, Joannie, had died:
My precious mother, JOANNIE went home to JESUS & my DADDY this morning. We praise God for His promise of eternal life & we thank God for her

It wasn’t long before her co-host and close friend, Hoda Kotb, also shared the news on her Instagram:
According to “Today,” Joan “Joannie” Epstein was 87 years old.
While the cause of her death is unclear, what is clear is that “Cuddles,” as she was affectionally known, made a huge mark on the lives of those who loved her.
Kathie Lee’s daughter, Cassidy, posted this touching photo on her Instagram:
Her caption reads:
Jesus & Pop Pop are much cooler, anyhow and I know they’re both smiling now that they have you back… so until we meet again, love you to heaven, Cuddles.
Kathie Lee once described her mother as the “sunniest person I know” and the woman who “gave me wings.”
The loss of Kathie Lee’s mother comes only two years after the TV host lost her husband, Frank Gifford, in 2015.
Our condolences to Kathie Lee Gifford and her family as they face this difficult time.
