Last week, actress and fitness guru Kate Hudson welcomed her very first baby girl.
The 39-year-old, who has two older sons from previous relationships, gave birth to the bundle of joy with longtime boyfriend, musician Danny Fujikawa.
Hudson revealed on Wednesday that they decided to name their newborn daughter after Fujikawa’s grandfather. She wrote on Instagram:
We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor.
The new parents chose not to share updates about their newborn baby on social media for several days after her birth, leaving fans eager catch a glimpse of little Rani Rose.
And on Sunday, they finally got their wish.
Hudson shared a photo of her baby girl, swaddled in a blanket, to Instagram. She captioned the sweet post, “Our little rosebud.”
The mother of three was flooded with congratulations from fans. One Instagram user wrote:
Congratulations to your beautiful baby. She’s gorgeous. Love and Laughter and Treasure her.
Hudson’s famous mother, 72-year-old Goldie Hawn, gave her daughter some words of advice after she welcomed Rani Rose to the world, Dearly reported.
Hawn, who is also a mother of three, told Hudson that parenting isn’t about being perfect:
“We do the best we can as mothers. Certainly, as a mother, I’ve made mistakes. We all do, we all will. But the most important thing is to stay authentic and true to yourself and hope that you show by example, not by what you say but by what you do.”
Hudson is also mom to sons Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7. No word yet how her older boys feel about their new baby sister.
The actress first announced her pregnancy in April.
