Actress Kate Hudson, 39, just had her first daughter in October, but she’s already got more babies on the brain.
The fitness guru welcomed baby Rani Rose with her longtime boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, three months ago.
And on Thursday, she opened up about her growing family on “Today.” Hudson told hosts, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, that she always wanted a lot of children:
“I always thought I’d have four to six kids. That was like, when I was really little, I thought that. When you come from a big family… you either don’t want kids or you want a lot of kids. So I always thought I’d have [more kids].”
However, she nearly stopped after welcoming her sons from past relationships, Ryder, 15, and Bingham, 7.
That is until she met the current love of her life. Hudson told “Today”:
“At one point I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I’m done.’ And then I met Danny and was like, ‘Alright, I got to pump them out for him.’ He needs a boy. He needs his own boy.”
Hudson noted that there will be a big age gap between her older children and any kids with Fujikawa.
Although, the mom has said that Rani Rose and her son, Ryder, have a sweet relationship despite the large age difference.
The 39-year-old told the hosts:
“Fifteen years and a newborn, is really quite amazing to watch. It’s like, a completely different generation. My son looked at me and he goes, ‘Mom, when I’m 30, she’s going to be just turning 16.’ But that’s wild that I’ll have a 30-year-old kid and a child in high school.”

Post Turkey Day my son comes into our bedroom, takes his sister in his arms and spent some solid early morning time loving her. I watched thinking… I’m Thankful for love. Unconditional love and that my children embody what it is when one feels loved. ❤️ Let’s all have an entire year where we stay grateful. Keep this party going 🙂 @mr.ryderrobinson #Rani🌹
Hudson joked that she’s learned a lot of parenting skills since her first-born and isn’t “messing up Rani as much as I messed up Ryder.”
The actress said she doesn’t know when she’ll have more kids. For now, she’s concentrating on losing her baby weight to stay healthy for her current children.
Last month, it was revealed that Hudson is the newest ambassador for WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers.
