It’s only been two months since actress Kate Hudson welcomed a daughter with her longtime boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, but she’s ready to lose the baby weight.

A Dearly previously reported, the fitness guru gave birth to her daughter on October 2. The couple named their daughter Rani Rose, in honor of Fujikawa’s grandfather.

Now, Hudson said that she’s got a “routine” down with her baby girl and is shifting her focus to improving her health.

On Thursday, the mother of three wrote on Instagram:

So…here we go! The routine with our baby is getting more familiar and I’m ready to start taking a little time in the day focusing on myself. For me that means my health. Why? Because I wanna be around a long time for these three kiddos of mine. I know that some are curious about what that means and for all you moms (wether working or not working moms) it is the most challenging thing in the world to balance kids and personal time. Let’s be honest, kids take the number one position and it’s haaaaard to make the time for yourself.

The 39-year-old actress said the trickiest part of getting back to her “fighting weight” is trying to balance kids and personal time.

But since she has to film in the spring, Hudson said she’s got to shed the baby weight. The mom wrote:

MY GOAL: I will be shooting a film in the spring and I’m looking to shed 25lbs. I’d like to try new workouts and eat as healthy as I can. I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work everyday, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane!

The actress said she felt inspired after Thanksgiving when everyone was “thanking their health.”

According to Livestrong, moms will lose about ten pounds on average after giving birth to their baby.

But postpartum weight depends on a lot of factors, including metabolism, total weight gained, and post-baby exercise.

Moms will usually retain about seven pounds of fat after welcoming their little one. Regardless, Hudson seems determined to kick those extra pounds by spring.

The actress also has two other children from past relationships, Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7.
