In May, Jon Gosselin revealed in an interview with HLN’s “Morning Express” with Robin Meade, that neither Collin or Hannah Gosselin will be featured during the newest season of TLC’s “Kate Plus 8.”

And during the season premiere of the show on October 1, Kate Gosselin addresses Hannah’s absents to the cameras.

The one-hour episode featured Kate and six of her eight children partaking in a “college tour trip” to help twins Mady and Cara decided which college they want to attend.

And in a confessional, Kate explained why Hannah decided not to attend:

“She’s with her dad and she was not able to come. And that’s sad. It’s the second trip here actually for us that she hasn’t been with us. Hannah, it was sad for us because, Hannah you know, they’re getting older, and they’re making different choices, and they’re doing different things. And she opted to stay back with her dad, actually. Which again, you know, her choice. Whatever. It’s not optimal for Mom. But it’s something that I support. And you know, we just, adjust and move on.

Time marches on. And now how quickly it goes like for Mady and Cara who are gonna be graduating. And I know that I’m going to blink and the little kids are gonna be there too. You know, when the kids are little, you invision life a certain way. And as life changes, you know, in terms of our family, it’s not how I pictured it. You just have to adjust to it. It’s gonna come fast than I ever really imagined.

However, the mom neglected to mention Collin, who was placed in a special facility by Kate in 2016. At the time, she told People that Collin had special needs, and the facility he was staying at was going to provide him with the tools he needs to succeed.

Years later, Collin was removed from the facility by Jon, who claims that Collin is neither on the spectrum nor does he have special needs.

Jon now has custody of both Hannah and Collin. Kate hasn’t addressed Collin publicly since Jon was given custody of the 15-year-old.

The show also dug deeper into Mady and Cara’s plans as they prepare to head off to college. Surprisingly, the twins do not want to attend the same college in hopes of finding their own path separate from each other.
