Kate Gosselin of TLC’s “Kate Plus 8” posted on Instagram a Halloween photo of five of her sextuplets trick-or-treating.

With the photo, Gosselin wrote the caption:

I had a trick-or-treating date with a couple of cute pink Dinosaurs and a few adorable Astronauts!

It was a pretty blatant reminder that the sixth sextuplet, Collin, was missing from the photo and, seemingly, from their lives.

A few months ago, Gosselin addressed the question on everyone’s minds: “Where is Collin?” However, her answer provided as little information as possible and caused even more confusion and speculation.

As Dearly previously reported, in a 2016 interview with People, Gosselin said:

“Collin has special needs. [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him — our entire family has been impacted.”

Gosselin further revealed Collin was sent away to attend a program that would help him with behavioral issues and that doing so was best for her son.

For someone so unabashed of sharing personal TMI (too much information) on television and social media, many fans think it’s pretty bizarre that Kate Gosselin has been so tight-lipped on why Collin is seemingly never with the family.

People took to Instagram to call Gosselin out for ignoring her son’s absence in the Halloween photo.

Juliaellasolomon shared these harsh words on her account:

It’s awful how you just shun your son and get rid of him because he’s hard to handle. When he grows up he will NEVER forgive you for abandoning him when he needed you the most. At least let him go live with his father who actually wants him. After watching all your shows you can see you are a cold hearted human being.

Another commenter, grammyjoyluvsu, summarized how she felt about several of Kate’s posts:

My problem is how could he possibly be that bad? I’ve never heard of a child that young being ostracized from his whole family! She could have pictures of him! He should be included in special events like their birthday etc. Three years is absurd.

Grammyjoyluvsu is referring to when Gosselin threw a party for the sextuplets and Collin wasn’t even invited.

Other followers of Gosselin defended her decision to send Collin to a special program.

User jericorrell wrote this rebuttal:

I had to send my son to a special school so don’t judge! If I hadn’t he would have ended up in jail, he was failing school, stealing and acting out. Counseling, the police, help at school, nothing worked. SO all you perfect parents shut up. The hardest thing I ever did was wave goodbye to my son at his new school. Which was able with intensive therapy to build his grades, help him get a job, etc.

Although the photo was intended to capture the family love and nostalgia of trick-or-treating together, it has made people on social media criticize Gosselin for not including her oft-excluded son.

While it’s unclear what exactly Kate and the rest of the family have had to go through with Collin, a picture says a thousand words.
