Just months after their September 8 wedding, Joseph Duggar and his wife Kendra Caldwell have announced that they have a baby on the way.
The couple wed nearly four months after Duggar proposed to Caldwell on May 26, during his sister’s Joy-Anna’s wedding, Dearly previously reported.
The pair announced that they were expecting their first baby in a video in which they held mom-and-dad cups that were topped off with whipped cream and festive candy canes:kendraduggar.rp/Instagram
According to “Entertainment Tonight,” the “Counting On” star spoke excitedly about becoming a father:
“I’ve always dreamed of having my own family and it’s really just kind of surreal that it’s actually here.”
The 22-year-old dad-to-be has a boy on his mind:
“I kind of think it’s going to be a boy, but either way, I’m happy just to have a baby.”
But his 19-year-old wife seems to be thinking pink:
“I think it could be a girl. You never know!”
Whatever the sex, they’re both hoping their baby turns out to favor each of them, with Joseph saying he wants their baby to have Kendra’s laugh and his wife wishing the baby will be “patient like Joe.”kendraduggar.rp/Instagram
Shortly after their big announcement, the congratulations started rolling in, with fans and family — including Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard — offering words of well wishes:
Congratulations to Joe and Kendra on expecting your first child! Y’all will make awesome parents, and Israel and Sam are always up/down for some new cousins!

Not surprisingly, the tweet from Dillard, who has previously had controversy surrounding some of his past tweets, was met with some cruel comments.
But surprisingly, he wasn’t the target this time— it was Josh Duggar who took the hit:
Another potential victim for josh. How exciting. What a precious blessing? I hope they stay far away from the untreated molester.
