In the hours following Jon Gosselin’s Christmas picture of Collin enjoying the holiday with family being posted to Instagram, hundreds of people commented on the photo.
As Dearly previously reported, the majority of commenters pointed out how good and happy Collin looked.
Collin looks soo much better!!
Merry Christmas! Beautiful picture, Collin looks so happy. I’m pleased he’s home with you where he belongs.
Aww, that’s the handsome happy face that I know. Hannah looks so happy too! I’m really glad they’re with you, Jon.
However, others criticized Jon’s ex-wife Kate for sending their son away to a treatment center for his “special needs” in the first place.
One fan wrote:
Yaas Collin! I’d love to know if he actually has “special needs”, or if he just didn’t deal Kate’s BS like we all suspect. Either way, he’s home! And he looks happy
Jon then responded to a now deleted comment responding to whether or not Collin does actually have “special needs.”
The dad of eight wrote:
He is not on any spectrum or special needs.
In 2016, Kate Gosselin told People that her son does have “special needs” and that she had to make the decision to get him help alone.
As Dearly previously reported:
“Collin has special needs. [There’s] a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we’ve had for a very long time, and it’s one I’ve dealt with on my own. I’ve felt very alone in this. By the same token, it’s not something that has only impacted me or him – our entire family has been impacted.”
It’s unclear if Jon’s comment was meant to say he was in treatment for no reason or if his diagnosis was something else entirely.
