John David Duggar and Abbie Burnett have known each other for several years.

However, it wasn’t until recently that the pair got together and, as John described it, “fell in love very quickly.” In June, John David and Abbie announced that they had entered into a courtship.

Now, one months later, the happy pair is revealing that they are engaged.

And Abbie has quite the sparkler to prove it:

According to People, the newly engaged couple reportedly wrote this joint statement before it was deleted from their family’s official website:

Wow! We are engaged! This feels even more real than before! It was a special moment to share together. The proposal and the ‘YES’ really solidified that we want to spend the rest of our lives together. One of the most amazing things about following Christ is being able to trust Him to direct your path and lead your life. We are so thankful that He led us to one another. Now we need to start thinking about a wedding!

That statement was replaced with this generalized statement:

We are thrilled to announce the engagement of John-David and Abbie! They are a wonderful match and make a beautiful couple! Abbie is a lovely young woman, full of tenderness and compassion. She has a deep love for the Lord and we are so delighted that John-David has asked her to be his wife! We love weddings in this family and can’t wait for this next one!

In a video announcing their courtship, John David and Abbie explained that they met when John “flew in for a church event” in Oklahoma, where Abbie is from.

She explained that the two of them “really got connected then.” John said:

“We fell in love very quickly. And it’s been a wonderful journey thus far…”

A TLC video revealed that John proposed in an airplane hanger. They were standing on a pile of rose petals in front of a sign that read “Abbie Will You Marry Me?”

John David said:

“We’ve been ready for this step for a little while, but it was really just I had a lot of things I wanted to get done to make it really special. I don’t know if I succeeded or not, but it was a lot of things.”

Abbie confirmed that her fiancé “succeeded” and that they are now looking forward to planing a wedding.
