Joanna Gaines’ rose garden has a very special meaning to her.
The “Fixer Upper” star told KMOV that, though she’s an avid gardener, she used to steer clear of roses because they’re notoriously difficult to grow. She said:
“I honestly thought they were really hard to grow so I always just kind of stayed away.”
But then, a friend gave her a rose bush and had a special request. Gaines said:
“A couple of years ago a friend gifted me with a rose bush, and she was actually dealing with infertility at the time. She said, ‘I know you have a garden. I’m going to give you this rose bush. Can you pray for me every time you see this?’”
The reality star agreed and made sure the rose bush flourished.
Last month, Gaines said the friend asked to come visit the rose garden at her Waco, Texas home.
She’d had a little girl of her own and decided to pay tribute to Gaines for praying for her. The “Fixer Upper” star told KMOV:
“She finally had a baby and named her Jovie Rose. Jovie is now almost eleven months old.”
Gaines said she was thrilled to see the rose bush flourishing, along with her many other varieties. But most of all, she was happy that she could offer her prayers.
The mother of five said:
“It was just a precious moment to see how much this bush has grown, and there were the most beautiful roses all over it, but then to also see this answered prayer on the other side of it. It just reminded me that this is definitely a very special thing for me in my own life, but also a way that, in some way, I can connect with those I love most.”
Gaines recently welcomed her fifth child, Crew Gaines, with husband Chip.
