Singer Jessica Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, are now parents of three.

According to People, Simpson gave birth to their second daughter, Birdie Mae, on March 19. She weighed 10 pounds, 13 ounces at birth.

A source previously explained to People that “Birdie is a family name.” Simpson also took to Instagram to announce the arrival of their “perfect” addition with a black-and-white photo of Birdie holding onto her big sister’s finger:

The now-mom of three wrote:

We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Mae Johnson.

Simpson and Johnson are already parents to 6-year-old Maxi Drew and 5-year-old Ace Knute.

Throughout Simpson’s entire pregnancy with Birdie, the fashion designer has been extremely open about the process.

As Dearly previously reported, from her swollen feet to the multiple times bronchitis had landed her in the hospital over the last nine months, fans applauded the 38-year-old for being so real.

She said on Instagram:

After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in 2 months), I’m finally home! Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey. I am slowly getting healthier every day. Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! ?? I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH

And as she told People in an earlier interview, her two oldest children have also been very curious about the process.

She said that they had a difficult time being honest with them without traumatizing them too much:

“They want to know every detail — like how milk comes out of Mommy, how the baby will actually get here and if my belly button is a speaker to communicate with the baby.”

The new family of five has yet to share what their newest bundle of joy looks like. However, based on their announcement, it’s clear Maxi loves being a big sister again.
