Singer Jessica Simpson has been adjusting to life as a mom of three for the last few weeks.
As Dearly previously reported, Simpson and her husband, Eric Johnson, welcomed their third child together, Birdie Mae, on March 19. She weighed 10 pounds, 13 ounces at birth.
In an interview with People, Simpson said their little bundle of joy makes their family “complete”:
“[Birdie] makes our family complete. Someone once told me to keep in mind that everything is a phase with infants and kids … trying to remember that fact, and celebrate the small victories.”
Now, the mom of three is trying to find her routine. Simpson admitted to People that, although it’s only been five weeks, it hasn’t been easy:
“Three is challenging. We are trying to get into the groove and make sure all three kids are getting equal attention … it’s more than a full-time job right now.”
Simpson and Johnson are also the parents of 7-year-old Maxi and 5-year-old Ace.
Along with the balancing act of trying to make sure their time is spread evenly, the 38-year-old mom admitted that she sometimes copes with the chaos by just joining in:
“The other night, all three kids were crying at the same time, so I just joined in! Ha!”
Simpson described Birdie as “very sweet,” “loves to be cuddled,” “is highly alert when she is awake,” and even slightly demanding. She joked:
“However, when this girl needs something, she makes it known!”
The fashion designer shared the first photo of Birdie Mae on Easter Sunday.
And many of Simpson’s fans fell in love with the infant, particularly with her cheeks:
Simpson told People:
“We are trying our best to be as present as possible and enjoy every part of having a newborn. We know how fast the time goes and how precious it is.”
