Former “Teen Mom OG” star lost her job and custody of her kids after alleging that her husband shot and killed her French bulldog.
Now, police say she made the whole story up for “publicity.”
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office said they have concluded an investigation into the alleged animal cruelty that was launched in early May, WECT reports.
Initially, Jenelle claimed she heard a gunshot after her husband, David Eason, took the animal outside.
She later told police a different story, according to a statement by the sheriff’s office:
“Jenelle stated that the reason she filed the animal cruelty report was for the publicity and because she did not know where her dog was.”

Nugget… I’m crying everyday. I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I’m speechless. You were my side kick and knew the moment I felt bad and would cuddle with me. You still had a lot to learn and a lot to grow from your lessons. Everyday I wake up you’re not here, when I come home you’re not here, when I go to bed… you’re not here. You’re gone forever and there’s no coming back. #Heartbroken #Distraught 😓😪💔
The mom of three allegedly asked the police to end the investigation because she didn’t think it actually happened.
During the investigation, authorities found “no blood evidence or any other physical evidence to validate that an animal had been fatally injured on the property.”
They then ended the investigation and concluded that the dog was not abused.
The statement read:
“Jenelle stated that the reason she filed the animal cruelty report was for the publicity and because she did not know where her dog was. The evidence collected indicates that the allegations of animal cruelty were fabricated. Therefore, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office is closing this investigation. No charges will be filed in this case.”
Jenelle is now denying that the story about the dog being shot was made up.
She told The Hollywood Gossip:
“When I responded I told him, ‘Yes, what you heard is true about my dog. This isn’t a publicity stunt and I’m not sure where my dog is or what happened to my dog but you would have to call David and ask. I was inside my house with my kids when David went outside with the dog.'”
The reality star added that she feels “attacked” and “exploited” by police. She said:
“These police ended their ‘investigation’ a month ago and told David’s lawyer, Bill Gore, that they were closing the case. I honestly think they are doing this for their own publicity because they could have wrote up their ‘press release’ weeks ago. I’ve never in my life dealt with a police department ever ‘releasing a press statement’ about their investigations.”
The sheriff’s office concluded their statement, “This investigation has been closed. All leads in this case have been exhausted.”
Jenelle regained custody of two of her children last week. Her eldest child, 9-year-old Jace, remains in the custody of her mother.
