“Teen Mom 2” star Jenelle Evans is speaking out about her children amid a custody battle to get them back.

The reality star mom and her husband, David Eason, temporarily lost custody of their three kids — Jace, 9, Kaiser, 4, and Ensley, 2 — last month after a court hearing.

The judge’s decision came after Eason allegedly shot and killed Jenelle’s French bulldog while the children were in their care.

Though the children aren’t currently living with Jenelle, she said their love for her has not diminished. The mom of three wrote in an Instagram post:

It’s the little things in life. With everything that has been going on lately, I’ve come to realize a child’s love for their mother will never fade. No distance, not time, no person can change that special love.

Jenelle said that her son, Kaiser, also gifted her a cross necklace so that they could match. She shared a selfie and a close-up of her new jewelry.

Jenelle wrote:

This necklace was given to me by my little bubba, Kaiser. He told me he wanted mommy to “match his”. My children are the sweetest and the best. #MommasBabies #InMyHeart#AlwaysAndForever

Two of Jenelle’s children, Jace and Ensley, are currently in the custody of her mother, Barbara Evans. Kaiser is being cared for by his father, Nathan Griffith.

Jenelle and her husband will have to follow a judge’s orders to undergo drug testing and take parenting classes in order to get their children back, Dearly reported.

Last week, she addressed the loss of custody in a statement:

I am currently following what my attorney has asked. I don’t want to speak publicly on the matter currently as that will jeopardize the possibilities of getting my kids back. […] I ask everyone to have an open heart before they judge how the media is portraying me. I love being a mother and David and I will get through this. We are staying strong and united.

It’s unclear when Jenelle and her husband will head back to court.
