“Teen Mom 2” couple Jenelle and David Eason are in hot water after fans and co-stars claim the father went too far when someone called out his parenting skills.

According to E! News, the trouble started when Twitter users questioned David’s support of concealed weapons around children.

David, who shares an infant girl with Jenelle, was quick to hit back. But his response left many calling him out for homophobia.

Though his Twitter account has since been deactivated, some users took screenshots of controversial messages:

David’s negative comments about LGBTQA parents left many social media users furious, and a petition on Change.org to get the dad fired from MTV quickly racked up more than 9,000 signatures.

Even some of his co-stars were quick to speak out against him, Hollywood Life reports. Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, and others tweeted in response to the comments.

And MTV was quick to give people what they wanted.

On Tuesday, the network confirmed that the reality star was terminated from the show mid-production. It wrote in a statement:

David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on “Teen Mom 2,” effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him.

But wife Jenelle was quick to jump to her husband’s defense. She told TMZ that “David didn’t understand how offensive people would get or how Twitter even works.”

She claimed that she and her husband have nothing against LGBTQA people and apologized for his remarks.

“We are sorry for the comments that were made,” she said.

Despite David’s firing, some say the network hasn’t gone far enough.

Many fans are now calling for MTV to fire Jenelle.

Some Twitter users wrote:

Jenelle also came under fire earlier this week for admitting she smoked marijuana while pregnant with her youngest child, daughter Ensley.

Despite the public outrage, MTV has yet to comment about Jenelle’s position on the show.
