Country star Jason Aldean is still reeling from the horrific Las Vegas mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in October. The singer was on stage mid-performance when a gunman started firing into the crowd; the massacre left nearly 60 people dead and hundreds more injured.
As Dearly previously reported, following the shooting, Aldean addressed fans and followers on Instagram, writing, in part:
My heart aches for the Victims and their families of this Senseless act. I am so sorry for the hurt and pain everyone is feeling right now and there are no words i can say to to take that pain away. Just know u all are in my heart and my prayers as we all go through this together.
As the father of two at the time, Aldean also had something to say about his fears for his children:
“Something has changed in this country and in this world lately that is scary to see. This world is becoming the kind of place i am afraid to raise my children in.”
Now, just days after his newborn son’s birth, Aldean and his wife Brittany have a different outlook on welcoming their son to the world. Brittany revealed to fans via Instagram that their baby was born a week early which, normally, doesn’t call for a second thought.
For the Aldeans, however, they now cherish every waking second with their loved ones — especially after the shocking tragedy in Las Vegas. Brittany took to social media to share that sentiment with their followers, saying, in part:
Today was Memphis’ due date, but thankfully he came a week early so we get more time with him? You make life a trillion times better, little man!! We love you SO much
Even though their son came just a few days early, the Aldeans have realized just how precious those few days are.
So blessed today to see my little man come into the world. In a year that has been a rollercoaster ride, this is what it’s all about. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for this kid. Memphis Aldean… 9lb 5 oz. #mamawasarockstar
As the two begin raising their son along with Jason’s other two daughters, it’s no secret they’ll be afraid of what today’s crazy world might bring. Now, however, they’re reminded it can also bring beautiful miracles like a child.
