As Dearly previously reported, the disappearance of Kenneth “Ken” Draper was sudden and mysterious.
On the evening of Aug. 10, Draper’s wife watched as he moved about the couple’s bathroom in their Corinth, Texas, home as she fell asleep to an audiobook.
According to NBC News’s “Dateline,” Leslie Draper saw the bathroom light switch on and then off — but when she woke up at 6:30 a.m. the next morning, her husband was gone.
It was strange because Draper was rarely up that early unless he was walking the dog. The family’s dog was still indoors, and Draper’s keys, car, and cellphone had been left behind.
Concerned, Leslie called friends, but it wasn’t until 12:30 p.m. that day that police were notified of the missing husband and father. His disappearance was being investigated, but authorities didn’t suspect foul play. They believed Draper had left on his own accord.
Words cannot express the sense of worry and anguish over the disappearance of my brother Ken Draper. Our family needs your prayers for his safe return.
Regardless of the circumstances, his family just wanted him home. His sister-in-law, Gail Percle, told “Dateline”:
“It’s just crazy. You think, ‘Did something happen?’ We just want him to know we love him and we want him to come home. And to anyone who knows anything, he has a family and is very loved.”
Now, the Corinth Police Department has issued a statement claiming they believe they have found the missing man nearly two weeks after his disappearance.
As NBC News reports, a body was discovered under a “large low-hanging bush” in the corner of a residence in Corinth. Authorities believed the body to be that of Draper. Foul play was not suspected.
