“Today” hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager both have daughters around the same age, and it seems they’re destined to be close friends just like their moms.
Jenna has two daughters, 5-year-old Margaret, and 3-year-old Poppy, with husband Henry Hager.
And Hoda has a 22-month-old daughter, Haley Joy, who she adopted alongside boyfriend Joel Schiffman, Dearly previously reported.
Now that the two moms are working together, it’s no surprise that they’ve bonded as mothers.
They revealed on “Today” that Hoda’s daughter has even been wearing hand-me-downs from Jenna’s 3-year-old, Poppy, People reports.
Hoda posted a sweet video of her daughter dancing and singing to Kim Richey’s “Chinese Boxes” in one of the dresses to Instagram, and Jenna said Poppy immediately recognized her old clothes.
Jenna said on the morning show:
“I was looking at it and Margaret and Poppy heard Haley and they said, ‘Oh, I want to see!’ And Poppy goes, ‘Poppy’s dress!’”
Hoda laughed and added:
“Oh, she was wearing Poppy’s dress!”
The mother of two and former first daughter said that she was surprised her 3-year-old was able to recognize her dress. She told her co-host:
“One of the hand-me-downs! I love a hand-me-down. Isn’t it weird that Poppy recognized it?”
Hoda continued on to say that she appreciated the fellow mom for always thinking of her daughter. She said:
“By the way, here’s what I love about Jenna: She shows up with a grocery bag, paper, full of — there’s, like, one shoe in there, some clothes.”
Thanks to Jenna, Hoda said Haley Joy is “stylin.’”
The moms only started hosting together last month, after Kathie Lee Gifford announced she was leaving “Today” after 11 years on the show.
However, it already seems like they’re bonding quickly over having daughters similar in age.
