Country singers Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood tied the knot in 2005, but a performance at the 52nd Annual Country Music Association Awards proved their love is as strong as ever.
On Wednesday night, Brooks debuted his new song “Stronger Than Me,” which host Carrie Underwood confirmed was dedicated to his longtime partner.
But along with the audience, Yearwood was also hearing the song for the very first time. Now, her heartwarming reaction has fans on social media in tears.
During the performance, Yearwood was seated in the front row and beamed as her husband sang lyrics like:
“The fact you’re unafraid to let your emotions show, just means you’re stronger than me.”
Towards the end of the song, she smiled as tears filled her eyes. And some Twitter users couldn’t get enough of the heartwarming display.
They wrote:
Crying like a little baby after that song @garthbrooks just sang to Trisha?

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are seriously relationship goals. Can you imagine someone writing a song for you and giving that kind of heart-felt performance?! Ugh ♥️ #CMAawards

Before the show, Yearwood told Entertainment Tonight that she was nervous to hear the song live on television. She said:
“I’m sure people think, ‘Oh, he probably sang it for her,’ I have not heard this thing. I swear. I really don’t know what it’s gonna be. I trust him, so I’m sure it’s gonna be wonderful. But I’m just nervous.”
Luckily, it seems the emotional performance went off without a hitch.
But the couple wasn’t the only big news of the night. Earlier in the show, Underwood surprised fans by announcing the gender of her unborn baby with the help of Brad Paisley.
Overall, it seems country fans got their fill of surprises and touching moments during this year’s CMA Awards.

Wow lived this song – my sweet hubby went first back in 2008. He was a gift from Heaven.
Everyone should be so lucky
I lost my husband of 45 years recently. I sat and cried listening to the song last night. Such love is rare…if you find it..hang on to it!! I wish i had met my husband sooner…I could have loved him longer.
The song is nice but there are others l liked better
I LOVED THIS IT HAD ME CRYING LIKE A BABY
Didn’t take long to write that song
What a beautiful love song, we should all be so blessed to have a loving spouse.
