On February 16, country music superstar Miranda Lambert revealed that she secretly got married to “the one.”
In a short and sweet Instagram post, Lambert thanked her new husband, 27-year-old Brendan Mcloughlin, for loving her for her:
She wrote in full:
In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan Mcloughlin for loving me for…. me. ❤️#theone
As Dearly previously reported, Mcloughlin is a police officer for the New York City Police Department, where he serves at the Midtown South precinct.
Now, a friend of Lambert’s is opening up about the connection between Lambert and Mcloughlin. The friend told People that Mcloughlin shares a lot in common with his father-in-law, Rick Lambert.
Rick was also a police officer, more specifically a homicide-and-narcotics cop for the Dallas Police Department:
“If you know Miranda’s dad and his background, you can guess why she’d easily connect with Brendan.”
The source also discussed how and when Lambert and Mcloughlin met.
According to People, Lambert met her now-husband on November 2, 2018, when her band, The Pistol Annie’s, performed on “Good Morning America.”

Lambert and her band performed again later that night at The Town Hall, the same area where Mcloughlin is assigned. As People reports, Mcloughlin is known to “work crowd control following concerts in the area.”
The source also confirmed that Lambert and Mcloughlin got married on January 26, 2019, just two-and-a-half months after they allegedly met.
According to previous reports, Mcloughlin is the father of a 3-month-old baby boy from a previous relationship.
Her fans had mixed reactions to news of secret nuptials. Some seemed skeptical of the marriage, while others were pleased Lambert found love again, five years after her public divorce to fellow country star, Blake Shelton.
