Reports are being made that after 31 years of marriage, former governor of Alaska Sarah Louise Palin and her husband Todd Mitchell Palin are ending their marriage.
According to the Anchorage Daily News, Todd allegedly filed for the divorce. However, in the filings obtained by Craig Medred, neither Sarah or Todd’s full names were written out.
As CBS News reports, the filings only listed the initials, S.L.P and T.M.P. However, it also reportedly contained the date Sarah and Todd got married, August 29, 1988. And the birthdate of their youngest son, 11-year-old Trig Palin, April 18, 2008.
The reason for the separation was listed as an “incompatibility of temperament between the parties such that they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.” The documents also ask for joint legal custody of Trig.
News that Todd had filed for divorce on September 6, just eight days after their 31st wedding anniversary, was first reported by Medred, an independent journalist based in Alaska. On his website, Medred wrote:
Not only are the names of those involved disguised, the names of the attorneys representing the plaintiff and defendant are absent from public viewable, online, court filings.
However, according to the Anchorage Daily News, attorney Kimberlee Colbo has reportedly been named at the lawyer representing Todd Palin:
In a filing, Colbo said she would ask the court to designate the divorce confidential as it moves forward.
As the Anchorage Daily News reports, Colbo did not answer their request for comment.
Sarah has been somewhat active on social media, especially Instagram. Most recently, she posted photos from Trig’s first day of school and a video showing her at a Kid Rock concert.
However, neither Sarah, Todd, or any of their adult children have made an official statement regarding the reports of their allegedly impending divorce. And it’s unclear if they ever intend on doing so.
