Gisele Bündchen sat in the U.S. Bank Stadium surrounded by her children, with emotions running high as she watched her husband, Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, fight for another Super Bowl title.

But, her husband didn’t earn a Super Bowl ring at the end of the big game, after already winning five times. This time, the win went to the Philadelphia Eagles and its backup quarterback, Nick Foles.

According to USA Today, Bündchen and Tom Brady’s three children— their 8-year-old son, Benjamin, and 5-year-old daughter, Vivian, and Bündchen’s stepson, 10-year-old Jack— were crushed by the Patriots’ loss, moving the two youngest children to tears. Jack looked on with a serious face.

USA Today reports Bündchen went into mommy mode by giving them a pep-talk that included a huge life lesson. She said:

“Sometimes you have to let other people win. We have to share. Sharing is caring.’’

As the couple’s daughter Vivian blurted out, “The Eagles won the Super Bowl,’’ her mother comforted her by saying, “Just this time. Daddy won five times. They never won before.”

Bündchen explained to her upset kids just how special this win was for the Eagles:

“Their whole life, they never won a Super Bowl. You have to let someone else win sometimes.’’

Brady’s wife even turned to the Patriots’ all-pro tight end Rob Gronkowski to lift the kids’ spirits when she spotted him, “Guys, this is Gronk! You see, Gronk!” which brought some brief smiles to their faces.

But it was Brady himself who finally soothed the children when he showed up, as they exclaimed “Daddy,’’ while he hugged them and whispered into their ears.

Bündchen didn’t stop teaching her children about how to handle the crushing loss after Brady’s family left the stadium. She showed them how to be kind to the winners— when you end up on the losing side.

On Monday, she congratulated the Philadelphia Eagles on their huge Super Bowl win and heaped praise on her husband and his team for their winning season on an Instagram:

Bündchen wrote:

Congratulations Eagles for winning the Super bowl, what a game that was! Congratulations Patriots for giving your best and to my love, we are incredibly proud of you because we are able to see ever day all the commitment, sacrifice and hard work that you have devoted to become the best in what you do. We love you! ❤️

Like many moms, she showed her children how to be a bigger person by congratulating the winning team, instead of wallowing in the heartbreaking loss.
