The Busbys and the Gosselins are two large families with reality television shows on TLC. This week, they have both been in the news for problems at home.

Fans of “OutDaughtered” can’t help but notice the similarities between the two reality families.

Adam and Danielle Busby from “OutDaughtered” have six children, a 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old quintuplets.

Jon and Kate Gosselin from “Kate Plus 8” have eight children, 16-year-old twins and 13-year-old sextuplets.

Some fans are particularly concerned that Adam Busby is starting to act like Jon Gosselin:

Kate and Jon are currently in the midst of an ongoing custody battle. As Dearly reported earlier this week, their daughter Hannah was taken away in an ambulance after the former couple got into a dispute outside the dentist’s office.

Jon and Kate publicly announced their divorce in 2009. According to ABC News, Jon asked for the divorce. Kate later told People magazine that he had grown very distant after having the sextuplets.

Kate told People at the time that she wasn’t surprised that they were divorcing:

“I knew the divorce rate for parents of multiples, especially higher-order multiples, is so high. I’d done the math.”

According to a study by the Archives of Women’s Mental Health, both mothers and fathers of multiples face high levels of depression and anxiety that can often lead to tension in a relationship. Parents of multiples also have higher chance of divorce.

The Busby family has been openly discussing Adam’s paternal postpartum depression this season.

Some fans of “OutDaughtered” argued that while Adam has been struggling with depression, there’s a huge difference between the way the Busbys have been handling the stress:

As previously reported by Dearly, Danielle recently wrote in a blog post for “Live Original” that people were concerned she would not be able to make her marriage last after the quints were born.

She wrote that she has been taking each challenge with a smile and trusting in God to protect her marriage:

I had faith that God would protect my marriage, even with all these new challenges, and He has. I know I can’t do this new life of mine well on my own, but by trusting in God and relying on His strength, I can do this new crazy, wild, hard, stressful life well because He gives me the ability to do it.

Both Danielle and Kate used fertility treatments in order to conceive their children.

Neither were expecting to give birth to multiples.

The Busby and the Gosselin families have both had to deal with the stress of raising many children at the same time. Only time will tell if Adam and Danielle will be able to manage the stress together.
