Reality star Emily Maynard Johnson has come a long way since her days starring on ABC’s hit show “The Bachelorette.”

The 31-year-old may not have found her fairy-tale romance on the series, but she seems to be doing better than ever with her growing family.

In 2014, she married Tyler Johnson, a North Carolina native she met at church before the show even started. The two have since had three children together.

Maynard Johnson is now opening up about her eldest daughter from a past relationship, 12-year-old Ricki.

Ricki was featured heavily on “The Bachelorette” when the series aired in 2012, as her mom searched for the perfect romance and father figure for her young daughter.

But now, the mother of four says she regrets putting her daughter on reality television, according to People. She said:

“I wish that I would’ve kept [the show] totally separate [from Ricki]. At the time, I thought, ‘This is it,’ and I never would’ve brought her into it had I not thought that.”

Her daughter’s father, NASCAR driver Joseph Riddick Hendrick IV, died in a plane crash in 2004. She found out she was pregnant with Ricki a week later, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”

So during her time on “The Bachelorette,” the mom knew she had to find a good, potential stepfather. But now she wishes she had taken a different approach.

Maynard Johnson told People:

“So I wish that I maybe would’ve taken a step back. Maybe sheltered her from that a little bit more.”

Despite the decision to feature Ricki on the reality show, it seems the 12-year-old is living a happy and normal life.

She’s now a proud big sister to three siblings and remains mom’s “favorite girl in the world.”
