A Texas elementary school art teacher is being called a “national treasure” after her daughter posted photos of a dress she had made.

According to Charlece Lake’s Twitter, the skirt of the pretty cream dress her mom, Rebecca, bought from Amazon was hand designed by her students.

Lake explained after calling her mom “the cutest art teacher ever”:

She made a dress and had every one of her students draw one thing on the dress for her to wear.

The proud daughter then shared a couple of photos of the Christa McAuliffe Elementary School teacher rocking her hand-painted, one-of-a-kind dress at her students’ art show:

Lake exclaimed:

And thousands of others reacted similarly to seeing how supportive the teacher is of her students. So far, the tweet has received over 108,000 likes and over 12,000 retweets.

Some commenters wrote:

Your mom is the type of teacher that change a child’s life & they NEVER forget the positive that was poured into them

Your mom is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs. My art teacher is why I fell in love with the arts. Your mom is doing wonderful, I hope she knows how amazing she truly is.

Bless. People like your mom are why kids grow up with a passion for art and their education. I love it so much thank you!

Wow.. when I grow up I want to be just like her. she’s the type of teacher that makes the classroom a better place

At the end of the night, Rebecca took to her own Twitter account to call her students’ art show “the best night ever.”

She wrote:

Best night ever! I love displaying all the artwork for the District Art Show and having my daughter home from college and attend the show was the BEST!

And McAuliffe Elementary School is very glad to have Rebecca as one of its own.

The school said in a tweet of its own, “Congrats to all of our amazing McA Artists! Rebecca Lake you are incredible! Thank you! Great job!”
