Tom Wopat is best known for playing Luke Duke in the hit 1980s TV comedy “Dukes of Hazzard.”

Aside from his well-remembered role on the small screen, the actor has also focused a large portion of his career on musical theater.

That focus landed him several stage roles, including a touring production of “Annie Get Your Gun,” a Broadway run of “Catch Me If You Can,” and, most recently, a role in a rendition of “42nd Street” at a Waltham, Massachusetts, theater.

However, it’s now unclear whether the 65-year-old actor will be able to take part in opening night — set for Thursday evening.

According to USA Today, Wopat was arrested around 11 p.m. Wednesday on indecent assault and battery, and drug charges.

TMZ reported that the actor allegedly put his hand down a woman’s pants; that woman is reportedly a castmate in the play.

The Waltham Police Department released a statement which read, in part, that the “indecent assault and battery” was “on a person over 14.” However, they did not elaborate on the reported woman’s identity or any details about the alleged assault.

After the accusation of assault and battery, police reportedly began a search for the actor, and upon finding him, discovered “two bags of white powder believed to be cocaine.”

Wopat’s arraignment is scheduled for Thursday in Waltham District Court “hours before” the play’s scheduled to open, according to USA Today.

It’s unclear if the actor, who’s married, had retained an attorney as of Thursday afternoon.
