Giuliana Rancic is one of the hosts of “E! News” and the proud mom of six-year-old, Edward “Duke” Rancic.

While hosting the one hour live entertainment news show on September 21, Rancic’s son— whom she shares with husband Bill Rancic— appeared on set, much to the mom and her co-host’s surprise.

As the video shows, Rancic was busying introducing a story when Duke appeared out of nowhere and started dancing on camera.

After her co-host pointed Duke out to the “unsuspecting” mom, Rancic exclaimed:

“Omg, Duke! I did not know Duke was right there. Hi, honey. Mommy’s working, mommy is working. Literally that was … this was not planned.”

The mom is then seen attempting to get her son off the set as her co-host continued on with the show, before running to help Rancic and calling himself “the babysitter.”

Rancic, who brought her only child to work that day, swears Duke’s little jig was not staged.

The mom appeared to be pretty thrown off when her co-host Jason Kennedy noticed the six-year-old dancing behind them.

The moment loosely resembled that of this BBC reporter’s when his daughter barged in on him while he was attempting to do a live shot:

On instagram, one commenter wrote:

Certainly stage but still so funny!

However, Rancic responded to the comment saying it truly wasn’t staged at all:

Swear it wasn’t. We were all legit surprised.

Kennedy also responded saying he wants Duke to come to work with his mom more often, joking that as his babysitter he “wasn’t doing his job properly.”

Rancic later posted the video to her Instagram page with the hashtag, “Mom life.”

Do you think Rancic handled the surprising live television well?
