Josiah Duggar is officially a married man.
According to his family’s official website, Josiah married his wife, Lauren Swanson, on June 30. Many of his siblings and his parents offered their congratulations on social media.TLC
Sister Jill Dillard and her husband Derek wrote:
Congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Josiah Duggar! We are so happy for y’all!! Marriage is awesome! Love y’all!
Josiah’s parents and Lauren’s now in-laws, Michelle and Jim Bob, said:
We are thrilled to announce the marriage of Josiah and Lauren Duggar! God has richly blessed us by adding Lauren to our family. We know He has great plans for them and we are overjoyed that He has brought them together. Thank you to all for prayers and support as Josiah and Lauren start their journey together!
The newly married couple first began courting in January, but have known each other for years.
The 21-year-old asked his 18-year-old bride to marry him in March:
I feel like the most blessed guy on earth ?… Lauren said YES! God definitely opened our eyes in his perfect timing to show us how we complete each other. The more time I spend with Lauren the more I realize how I can’t live without her. There’s no one else I’d rather spend my days and grow old with! #engaged #weddingplanningbegins
In a video on TLC.com, fans got their first glimpse of Josiah and Lauren, minutes after they became husband and wife.
They gushed over each other and talked about their favorite part of the ceremony. Then Josiah admitted that the next step for them as a couple is to “slow down”:
“I think for both of us, what we are looking forward to in this next chapter of our lives is really spending time with each other as a couple, really slowing down for me. I have made a priority years ago, just for my first year of marriage especially, slow down on as much work stuff as I can and really focus on our relationship to each other.”
Could that mean Josiah is taking a page from his sister Jinger, who waited until after her first anniversary to have a child with her husband, Jeremy?
