In the early morning hours of August 2, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman shared a story on Twitter that detailed a theft.

As The Blast reports, someone broke into the Colorado store he and his late wife Beth owned. The thieves reportedly stole some of Beth’s personal belongings in the heist as well merchandise that was being sold in the store.

The mess was allegedly found by one of Chapman’s team members, who had stopped by the store to “handle some business.” The team member reported that thousands of dollars worth of “Dog and Beth” products were also stolen.

The Blast described the personal items that were stolen as “priceless family mementos.” The report alleges that the personal items in the store were being used in the memorial made in Beth’s memory following her passing.

Now, Chapman is offering a substantial reward to anyone who has information regarding the burglary:

The Bible says it is an unforgivable sin to steal from the dead. LARGE CASH REWARD FOR ANY INFORMATION FOR WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS !!!

As Dearly previously reported, Beth passed away on June 26 after a two-year-long battle with cancer.

My Baby

A post shared by Duane Lee Chapman (@duanedogchapman) on

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Chapman detailed one of the last conversations he had with Beth before she was put into a medically induced coma:

“The last few moments she said, ‘Come in here right now, in the bathroom.’ I went in and she said, ‘Look at me.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, you’re freaking beautiful baby.’ [And she said,] ‘Look at me, Duane Chapman.’ And I did, I always saw Beth and she said, ‘Please, let me go.’

And I didn’t even make a decision, I almost said, ‘I can’t.’ Before I could say, ‘Alright,’ she couldn’t breathe and I called the ambulance… But everyday she talked as if she was not there. ‘Here’s what to do with this, here’s what to do with that. Don’t keep running your mouth. When they ask you a specific question, just answer that.’”

He added, “There is not another Beth. There’ll never be another Beth. There ain’t a girl built like another Beth.”

I know how this hurts because I have lost loved ones and had people steal things after their death but didn’t belong to them. It hurts deeply and especially the things that cannot be replaced like pictures however I know one thing and that is no one can steal the memories. And no one can steal the memories in your heads either. Please keep that in mind as you find your way through this horrible tragic advance after the loss of your loved one Beth.

That is true and when they are gone it is hard. But we do what we can for the family that is left. So Duane, I pray for you and your family everyday hoping it gets a little better. But I know it hards. My husband just went fast and it was in 2013. Just for your ears I hope it don’t get out but we had just adopted a boy that was like our own grandson. Parents both messed with drugs. So the boy was close to Dad and now just me and brother and sister and her family. So I just want to say is I pray for you and your family.
