After days of asking his friends and family to pray for his wife, Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman has announced his beloved wife, Beth Chapman, has passed away.

According to Hawaii News Now, Beth was admitted to Hawaii’s Queen’s Medical Center on Saturday, June 22 and was placed into a medically induced coma. A representative for Duane told the publication that Beth’s condition “is quite serious.”

The coma comes after Beth was diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in 2017.

As People reports, just two months after her original diagnosis, Duane updated fans saying that the “cancer was completely removed.” Sadly, in November 2018, the cancer returned and Beth was admitted into the hospital for blockage in her throat.

Beth also addressed her ongoing battle while standing in front of her fellow churchgoers on Mother’s day. She reportedly said:

“I don’t go to God and go, ‘Why did I get cancer?’ He’ll roll his eyes at me again, because I know why — because this is the ultimate test of faith. It is the evidence of things hoped for and it is the substance of things not known.

Chemotherapy is not my bag, people. Sorry, that’s not for me. So for me, this is the ultimate test of faith. This is my ultimate lesson. And it will either be taught to me or to you. And I am fine with taking the hit for everyone else. Because I think I know another guy who did the same thing.”

Duane publicly asked others to pray for his wife on Twitter:

He later posted a photo of Beth’s hand as she laid in her hospital bed:

Duane last updated his Twitter followers by saying some of what is being reported is people “filling in the blanks.” He added that an accurate update will be shared soon by WGN, the network that owns his reality show, “Dog’s Most Wanted.”

Sadly, on June 26, Duane returned to Twitter to announce his wife had passed away at the age of 51:

He wrote:

It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.

On June 5, Duane shared a promotional video for their reality show in which he mentions his wife’s cancer:

He said:

“Duane Dog Chapman here. My wife, the love of my life, is fighting for her life. And instead of being at home helping her, I’m out here looking for you. So I’m warning you in advance, may God have mercy on you when I catch you because I won’t.”

Beth added, “You’ve been warned.”

The couple ended the trailer with a single kiss.

Duane and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you! I never met you, but since we started watching your show, I bacame addicted to Beth. Beth was loud and honest and her faith in God was clear. I am also a loud mouth woman and so respected Beth very much for speaking the Truth. Her stardom did NOT turn her away from God, she actually let it be known and told of her mistakes!! Beth will VERY much be missed. I have spent a lot of time crying about her and thinking about the family since I found out she passed. From a BIG Fan at heart, please accept my condolences and know this person in Pennsylvania cares about you!!!

God be with you “Duane,” and family. My heart is RIP, I have cried and cried to see this young women full of life leave us so soon. I know that we have friends in high places and she will be there one day when I get there to see her full of life and happy as an Angel. May God be with this family whom I have treasured and enjoy watching but now I can’t watch it all I do is cry. May the peace of the lord and his understanding be with you all. This is going to be very hard for you “Duane,” but remember God will never leave you nor forsake you. You and Beth have been a very good example in your show I always will never forget how you prayed and spoke to people of love and giving hope for the loss. Remember this God will always be with you and counsel you when you feel alone for he is our healer, wonderer, supremist and he will carry you by his hand even when all things are impossible God will make a way where there is no other way. To your precious daughter and sons may they also be blessed. May the peace of God be with you and family as these times will be painful but they will surpass because God will give you the strength everyday one day at a time. This is long I know I live in Milwaukee, WI, and my prayers and thoughts are with you all. Be Blessed today, tomorrow and always. Love Ivonne
