Back in August 2017, Derick Dillard, husband to Jill Duggar, took to Twitter to voice his opinion of the transgender community.

He wrote, in reply to a tweet from TLC advertising the newest season of “I Am Jazz”:

What an oxymoron… a “reality” show which follows a non-reality. “Transgender” is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God. […] I want to be clear. I have nothing against him. I only have issue with the words and definitions being propagated here.

He continued:

I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child. It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.

Dillard’s candid words quickly caught the attention of both his and Jazz Jennings’s fans, causing quite the uproar on social media. The following day, Jennings responded to Dillard’s tweet.

Her retort was short and to the point:

Every day I experience cyber-bullying, but I keep sharing my story. Today was no different. […] Cyber-bullying is VERY real! Thanks EVERYONE for your love and support today!

At the time of Dillard’s initial tweet, both he and Jennings were employed by TLC. Shortly after, the network released a statement announcing they would be parting ways with Dillard. The network wrote:

We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future. We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.

Despite being fired, Dillard still isn’t shying away from voicing his opinion of the transgender community. On Jan. 21, Dillard posted a photo of him with a group of fellow C3 Church members.

People used the comment section of that photo to put Dillard on blast, saying they were glad TLC fired him:

Derrick is the TROLL and the ugliest of them all.

Love going through the comments on almost all of his posts because Derick Dillard still tries to justify his horrible comments at Jazz. I love Counting On, But I am so glad TLC didn’t put up with his bullying.

I’m glad Derick was fired from Counting On. Enough is enough with all of his nonsense.

As a result, Dillard replied to the last comment saying:

My view is no different than most Americans, but I just mentioned it…

People also had a problem with his response:

“Most Americans” you’re delusional!! Keep digging that hole deeper asshole! Get a job and work! Jerk!

Most people? Hardly. Most people believe in science and medicine and COMPASSION. One can love the Lord and all those he hath created. Judge not, Derick.

Most Americans?? What are you smoking?? You mean most hateful Americans, AKA- fundamentalists- you know the ones, your fellow cult members.

Dillard’s wife, Jill, has yet to comment on TLC distancing itself from her husband.
