As most people know, being famous has its upsides, but it definitely has its downsides.
For starters, people are constantly judging every move a celebrity makes. They can’t do anything under the radar, and their mass following on social media means receiving one negative comment after another.
While trolling is part of the price paid for fame, harassment shouldn’t be.
But “Days of Our Lives” and “Biggest Loser” star Alison Sweeney unfortunately has dealt with both.
TMZ recently reported that Sweeney has been dealing with one obsessive fan’s threats of physical injury and extortion on social media via 15 different accounts for years.
That obsessive fan is Oklahoma resident Jon Christopher LuVisi.
According to court documents obtained by E! News, LuVisi’s behavior has drastically worsened in the past nine months:
Defendant’s unwanted contact with the Plaintiff has spanned the course of years, but in the past nine months escalated to such an extent that Plaintiff reasonable fears for her safety and the safety of her family.
Sweeney claimed in the documents that every time she attempted to block him online, he’d create yet another account.
The court documents include some of his frightening messages, including:
“B***h you better answer me. You can’t hide from me you sorry ass b***h. Don’t push me. Your [sic] really starting to piss me off.”
Sami's back in Salem. This week is already intense, phew!
In addition, Sweeney claimed that LuVisi figured out her home address and eventually posted it online. The documents state that she “has suffered significant emotional distress, lack of sleep and fear for the safety of herself and her family, including her children, resulting from Defendant’s repeated harassment and threats.”
Finally, in June, the California Highway Patrol teamed with the Oklahoma law enforcement to investigate LuVisi’s behavior.
And that investigation led to one bizarre discovery.
After speaking with LuVisi’s wife, officials learned that she knew of his obsession with Sweeney, saying he was “infatuated” with the actress. In fact, she said “in March [she] came close to divorcing [LuVisi] over his obsession.”
Happy Easter!!! ? hope you find the golden egg! ???
But that’s not all.
TMZ reported that LuVisi’s wife told investigators he was in an online affair with someone he believed to be Sweeney, but it was a catfish scam.
The publication also reported that he attempted to extort thousands of dollars from her, threatening that he would send what he believed to be pictures of her private parts to her husband.
Thankfully, as of Thursday, a judge has granted Sweeney a restraining order against LuVisi — ordering him to stay 1,000 feet away from her, her home, her car, her place of work, and her children’s school.

While it may not be a perfect solution, it’s the most peace Sweeney has achieved so far in this ordeal.
