Flight attendant Pierce Vaughan was busy working over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t spend time with one of her family members.
On December 24, airline passenger Mike Levy was flying out of Detroit Metro Airport when he was seated next to Pierce’s father, Hal Vaughan.
Levy wrote on Facebook that the dad told him he had purchased several flights just to spend the holiday with his daughter. He wrote:
I had the pleasure of sitting next to Hal on my flight back home. His daughter Pierce was our flight attendant who had to work over Christmas ☹️. Hal decided he would spend the holiday with her. So, he is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. 😊. What a fantastic father! Wish you both a very Merry Christmas!
Levy said that Hal had some trouble trying to catch all the flights, but Pierce wrote in a separate Facebook post that airport employees did what they could to help.
According to USA Today, Hal bought tickets to six different flights in order to spend time with his daughter.
It’s unclear just how expensive it was for the dad to buy tickets for all the flights, but Pierce wrote that he used some benefits. The flight attendant said:
Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle).
Shoutout to Mike Levy for being a great first class passenger & helping us to understand how cool this actually is!
Levy’s original post has since been shared more than 30,000 times.
It seems that just like the flight attendant daughter, many think the father’s sweet actions were a Christmas miracle.
