As the dad from Nashville shared on Facebook, he’d been to the pool with his children and stopped at Sonic on the way home for ice cream.

As Kelley was leaving, he saw an elderly man crouched inside his car door. The man was making sure his wife could also enjoy ice cream on a hot summer day. Kelley wrote:

I realized that this elderly man beside me was sitting out side his car door, spoon feeding his wife ice cream who also looked in her late eighties. He draped a towel over her and slowly fed his bride in the 98 degree temperature.

Kelley snapped a photo of the couple, touched by the display of affection he was witnessing.

His post soon went viral, with commenters remarking on the husband’s devotion.

Kelley, who works with Ignite Ministries Nashville, saw the same thing — a lifetime of love, conveyed through a simple act. As he wrote on Facebook:

“It was a beautiful display of love.”
