The dad of the baby whose head was allegedly stomped on by a 10-year-old girl speaks out.
Nate Liedl father of 6-month-old Jaxon told KRTK he can’t forgive the girl that brutally took his little boy’s life. He said:
“I waited 37 years for my own little baby boy. I was extremely lucky because he didn’t cry, no fussing, he was happy smiles all the time.”
Nate said he was heartbroken when doctors told him Jaxon’s heart stopped and he would not survive the beating he had endured.
He was pronounced dead on November 1.
Liedl’s time with his son was cut even shorter due to a lengthy custody case. He explained:
“Missing out on those first three months was hard enough. And then, to be granted only eight hours after that, I feel like they essentially robbed me of time with Jaxon.
Now I’m not going to be able to get any of it back.”
During an interview on Monday, the grieving father explained that he wants to make sure the 10-year-old is held accountable for her crime.
“As opposed to seeing it as a 10-year-old girl, I see it as the person who killed my son, she deserved to be in handcuffs, she’s a criminal.”
The father expressed no sympathy for the troubled girl who dropped Jaxon, panicked, and then crushed his head at a daycare in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. As previously reported by Dearly, the 10-year-old was living with her foster parents who ran the home daycare center where the baby was enrolled.
According to Inside Edition, the child is said to suffer severely from emotional issues.
On the day of the trial, Liedl sat in the courtroom and made sure the defendant who was charged with first-degree murder would face him in court.
The father watched the girl sob in her mother’s arms as prosecutors described her crime.
The 10-year-old returns to court on December 11.
According to the Associated Press, the adult charges will likely be contested.
