21-year-old Savannah Page Gold went missing from her home in Jacksonville, Florida, on August 2.
According to Action News Jax, Gold was last seen leaving her house on the way to work. She was reported missing when she didn’t show up for work at 6:00 p.m.Screenshot/Action News Jax
The Florida Times Union reports that the parking lot video surveillance shows Gold’s car pulling up to the restaurant around 5:30 p.m., but the footage is too grainy to make out who was driving.
Her car was later found in the parking lot with a flat tire. It was unlocked — with her purse, identification, and credit card stuck behind the passenger seat.Screenshot/Action News Jax
Around 6:30 p.m., Gold’s dad received a text message from her phone. WJTX reports that the message included many misspelled words and read unlike Gold’s usual messages:

“hey i just eanted to tell you and mom i met a really great guy and were running away together i love him and were leaving to ight ill call you later when we get tk where we are glong.”
Her brother received a similar text message around the same time:
“heyi quit im leavingwith my boyfriend i cant do this s*** anymore im fine justwant to get away.”
Gold’s mom told WJTX that as soon as she read the text message, she knew something was wrong:
“My husband received this text, and I immediately look at it and say, ‘This is not from Savannah.’ I knew right away that’s not how she speaks, types, nothing.”
A missing person’s report was filed when Gold couldn’t be found. First Coast News reports that officers tried to locate her phone but were unable to get a signal as the phone is off.
Gold’s best friend, Virjona Gjuraj, told Action News Jax that she wasn’t aware that Gold had a new boyfriend:
“She has not met any boy. And if anybody would know, it would be me or her mom.”

In an interview with Dearly, Gjuraj said she hadn’t heard any updates about her friend’s disappearance. She wanted to let other people know that her friends and family are looking for her:
“She is so loved and we just want her home where she belongs. Savannah is such a wonderful person and I’m not saying it just because I’m her best friend. If you just spent one minute with her, no matter how bad your day was, she would make you feel like you were on top of the world.”
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating Gold’s disappearance. Anyone with information is encouraged to call (904) 630-0500.
