Michael and Renee got married on a Southwest Airlines flight traveling from Las Vegas to Baltimore on June 17.
The couple, who met on Match.com, boarded the flight in their wedding attire.
But they waited until about 45 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land to get up and start their wedding ceremony.
The groom stood at the front of the plane while the bride stood at the back. Flight attendants helped create a more romantic atmosphere by asking everyone to turn on their call lights to light up the aisle.
Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” began to play as the bride walked down the aisle holding a yellow bouquet.
Passenger Skylee Campbell posted videos of the high-flying ceremony and said:
Can’t think of a better way to spend a late-night, 5 hour flight other than watching a wedding happen on the plane! #southwestairlines
Renee walked down the aisle of the plane dressed in a white gown with a sparkly belt and veil while Michael sported a black tuxedo.
The pilot officiated the wedding over the intercom.
A Southwest Airlines representative told Yahoo Lifestyle:
“Our crew jumped at an opportunity to wow two customers with an in-flight wedding surprise.”
The groom repeated the vows after the pilot, saying:
“I, Michael, take you, Renee, to be my wife, my partner in life, and my travel companion when I become a Rapid Reward Member today, tomorrow and forever.”
After the ceremony, the newlyweds walked down the aisle to Chris Brown’s “Forever.”
The couple reportedly started dating four years ago.
