The 2018 Golden Globe Awards, televised on January 7, was highly politicized.

Not only were there a few digs at President Donald J. Trump, but all who participated in the event wore black as a part of the “Time’s Up” movement, which is focused on raising money to help those who have faced sexual misconduct in the workplace and other gender disparities:

The College Football National Championship game, which took place the following night, started off on a different foot.

Not only did the President of the United States attend the game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs, but those in attendance let out a roaring cheer for Trump as he made his way onto the field:

They even started chanting, “USA, USA, USA!”

The reaction was rather surprising after multiple news articles suggested that the football game would see many protests as a result of the president’s attendance.

Following Trump’s arrival to the field just before the performance of the national anthem, Daily Caller reporter David Hookstead tweeted out:

The crowd at the #NationalChampionship proudly cheered for America. The Golden Globes spent three hours trashing America.

That’s the difference between Hollywood and the parts of this country that love football.

Hookstead also described the moment as an “incredible” one.

Given the state of the NFL and how politicized the league has been as of late, many football fans agreed it was fairly refreshing to witness the crowd’s reaction to the president’s arrival. Do you agree?
