Theresa Lockhart left a gym on May 18 and hasn’t been seen since. But police didn’t find that out from her husband of nine years.
The Michigan teacher didn’t show up for work at Schoolcraft High School on May 19, and her co-workers became concerned when they couldn’t contact her, according to the Huffington Post.
On May 20, two days after Lockhart was last seen, School Superintendent Rusty Stitt alerted Portage police that they had not heard from the woman.

Not only did Theresa’s husband, Christopher Lockhart, fail to report that his wife was missing, but according to Theresa’s sister, Joan Mullowney, her brother-in-law’s attitude about his wife being missing was worrisome. She told WWMT:
“He wasn’t very forthcoming with information. To be truthful, he seemed rather lackadaisical in his attitude … definitely not the attitude of a loving husband whose wife is missing.”

Deputy Chief John Blue of the Portage Police Department told Fox 17 that authorities are looking at the woman’s husband as part of their investigation because of his response following his wife’s disappearance:
“Right now we have the husband as the person of interest that we are looking at. The basis for this is the fact of the lack of cooperation from the initial report. The initial report was given to us by the school district. Follow-up contacts were not successful as far as getting additional information from him.”
According to the Huffington Post, Christopher has not been helpful in the investigation:
According to police, he’s been uncooperative and refused to let them search the home until authorities obtained a search warrant.
Even more damning is the frightening audio recordings that have surfaced since Theresa went missing.Screenshot/WWMT
In one of the recordings, which was captured by a neighbor last summer, the husband could be heard violently screaming at his wife:
“I’ll f**king kill you.”
Authorities have not commented on the audio recordings.
As WWMT reports, the husband’s LinkedIn profile lists his job as a manager at Pfizer.
A Pfizer representative would not confirm whether Christopher was still employed with the company but did acknowledge that the company is aware that he is a suspect in his wife’s disappearance, stating:
“We are aware of the circumstances regarding this individual; however, as a matter of practice, we do not comment publicly on personal matters.”
Police and volunteers are still searching for Theresa after ground, canine, and aerial searches have failed to locate her.
Theresa’s sister remains hopeful she will be found:
“I appreciate that everyone is keeping her face out in the public, that maybe somebody will see the news and actually recognize her face and can pass on the news as to where she might be.”
Teresa is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is believed to be about 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weigh 115 pounds.
