CNN’s Van Jones recently interviewed rapper Shawn Corey Carter, otherwise known as Jay-Z. Carter and his wife, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, share a 6-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, and 7-month-old fraternal twins, Sir and Rumi.

In the interview, Jones broached the subject of Carter’s daughters.

He began:

“You now have two daughters to worry about because you have twins —”

But Carter cut him off saying that he would prefer to not use the word “worry” when talking about his daughters.

Carter said:

“I’m not worried about my children. I know it’s a word, but I don’t even want to put that out there in the world. I’m hopeful for my daughters.”

Carter said that with the love and guidance that he and his wife will give them, he feels confident that his daughters will be successful.

He said:

“The amount of information that we’ll give them and the amount of love, between those two things, they’ll be fine.”

The studio audience quickly applauded the dad’s sincere and positive wishes for his children.
