Christy Carlson R0mano is best known for her role in Disney’s former smash hit “Even Stevens.”

Now, 16 years after the show ended, Romano has started a family with her husband, fellow actor Brendan Rooney. The couple just welcomed their second child into the world five months ago.

However, as Romano told her Instagram followers on August 12, their youngest daughter, Sophia, gave them a bit of a scare over the weekend.

The end of last week was rough! I was changing Sophia and noticed she had swelling on the side of her neck. I took her to the doctor and they sent me immediately to @chocchildrens When we got there we had to stay overnight to give her antibiotic in an IV! I was shook. I cried a lot. But strangely my baby and I feel even more bonded. I struggled with my milk supply the first go so I’ve been really happy with being able to nurse her on demand. Some days it’s super hard to balance. Ok – most days it’s super hard to balance. But the bond between mama + baby is such a miracle that we persist and stay strong for them. This #motivationmonday goes out to all my mamas. We got this! 💪🏼

The mom-of-two continued, saying that while she was terrified of what was happening, the harrowing moment “strangely” made her connection to Sophia stronger:

In a separate comment, Romano revealed her daughter’s diagnosis to her followers.

The mom said Sophia was diagnosed with parotitis. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, parotitis is the inflammation of a parotid gland, which can be caused by a handful of viruses, like the mumps or the flu.

Romano thanked all of her followers for all of their “supportive and sweet” well-wishes, adding how grateful she was for them. She concluded that Sophia is on antibiotics for parotitis and is on the mend.
