Less than three weeks after welcoming her third child into the world, HGTV star Christina Anstead is opening up about her postpartum journey so far.

As Dearly previously reported, Christina opted to have a c-section on September 6 based on her last pregnancy which also ended with a c-section.

She explained her decision in an earlier Instagram post:

I chose to do this because I had an emergency c-section with Brayden and the whole experience and recovery was really hard on me physically and emotionally. I really don’t feel comfortable trying to go down that route again. Bray was 8lbs 13oz – after pushing for hours and hours – he was just stuck and his heart rate was dropping. Based on ultrasound measurements we think this is going to be another big boy so this is the direction we’ve decided to take.

Now, 19 days since welcoming Hudson London Anstead into their family, Christina is urging mother’s to take their time after giving birth to a child.

In an Instagram post shared on September 24, Christina revealed that after feeling pretty good during her first week postpartum, she lost sight of what her body has just been through and pushed herself too hard:

The 36-year-old wrote:

Welll… I’m a moron. I felt totally fine since one week postpartum- like zero pain… but I was resting and taking it easy … and then I threw Tay a bday party and was lifting and running around all weekend… and yesterday I woke up like oh crap … and today oh crap turned into oh sh** – I definitely hurt myself. It’s not the c-section incision area that hurts it’s my left abdomen and it hurts bad ;/

So please anyone who just had a baby- don’t overdue it. I always want to be the people pleaser in the family and make sure everyone knows how much I care about them- but in doing so I wasn’t taking care of myself. Back to bed rest and baby cuddles.

Thousands of her followers took to the comments section to tell Christina that they were worried about her doing too much as she shared pictures and videos from Taylor’s birthday party over the weekend.

And many other moms shared their own stories of doing too much during their first weeks postpartum and also urged others not to make the same mistake.
