Country music superstar Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane forwent making an appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 15.

As ACM host Reba McEntire mentioned early on in the show, Chris and Morgane weren’t in Las Vegas because Morgane was due to give birth to their twin babies any day now.

A few minutes later, it was announced that Chris had won the ACM Award for Album of the Year. Reba walked on stage as if she was going to accept the award on his behalf.

But instead she wished Chris a happy fortieth birthday and also revealed that Morgane had given birth to twin boys just moments before.

People on Twitter couldn’t help but share in the growing family’s excitement:

Chris told the Today Show that he “giggled” for about 25 minutes when they first learned Morgane was pregnant with twins. Morgan said their oldest son and daughter were hoping for a baby girl and a baby boy:

“They want one of each so they each get a new buddy, that’s what they sa. I’ll see what I can do. I don’t want to find out but the kids want to find out so I think we’re gonna find out. I lost that fight.”

Neither Chris nor Morgane have shared a photo of their twin boys yet, but it’s safe to say they are counting their blessings, especially today.
